I'm a DC-based,
neurodivergent, primarily self-taught
multidisciplinary artist.
Under the pseudonym S. Smith, I've thrice contributed to Street Sense — a DC-based newspaper produced
by and for people
experiencing homelessness and poverty.
I sometimes incorporate my own lived experience
into my practice.
Currently,
my visual art focuses
primarily on
geometric
abstraction via transparency
paintings — particularly with thinly layered color against opaque backgrounds.
I aim to contrast and reconcile clarity and honesty with the
questionable
and hidden,
and investigate what the authentic self truly means.

My recent literary art has features of
poetry
and prose — yet doesn't fit the present definition of
versiprose nor prosimetrum.
As of now, they're
either "genre homeless", in a nonexistent and/or
an
unnamed
genre
outside the current literary taxonomy.
Or worse, living in the all-consuming void, a hell-hole named
"hybrid."
Presently, I explore various topics: the unhoused nature of my works, death, the surreal, and errors
through a
philosophical lens.
In addition to these, I create whatever else comes to mind. On occasion, accidents do occur in my writings, especially via a stream of consciousness headspace.
These
imperfections
sometimes inform and inspire future literary and visual works, and occasionally, I choose to keep them in the finalized piece — they become part of
the
art
itself.
